In Eesti Metsameister, we understand that forest is the greatest treasure for our people – few countries can say that more than half of their territory is covered with green gold. In addition to economic benefits, the forest also has a prominent place in our cultural heritage.

Therefore, at Eesti Metsameister, we believe that the forest must be managed for posterity. Sustainability means planting new trees in a place of the cut ones and respecting the forest’s life cycle.

Private landowners need support in managing their property skillfully. We understand this because a significant part of our team are multi-generational foresters.

Our team is characterized by one simple desire – to do things better.

Until recently, landowners, as it were, had to choose what is more important – time or money. With knowledge and good acquaintances, money could be saved by ordering the desired services from different companies in pieces, but to do this, one had to spend a lot of time and nerves doing research. However, the costs of companies providing complex services tended to be very high, especially if the property was outside of the forest company’s service area, which resulted in clients losing money.

This is why Eesti Metsameister’s work model was born. We have already signed cooperation agreements with sawmills and other brigades, already established priority areas and set up processes – all to save you time, money, and nerves.

Creating new standards

Eesti Metsameister’s emphasis is on sustainable forest management. Our mission in the future is to plant at least 10 seedlings in place of each cut tree. We are approaching this goal – in 2022 we planted 5.7 seedlings in place of each felled tree. We are the only company in Estonia that conceptualizes its activities in this way.

Owner-friendly Forest Management is our clear standard. This means flexibility, transparency, and a customer-centric approach. We understand that a person working full-time in another field is busy with their daily lives. It is for this reason that we also conduct quality control – the owner living on the other side of Estonia cannot be expected to check the background of the providers, communicate with the sawmills, constantly monitor the work, and fix the quality level of aftercare…

We established the largest privately owned Forest Plantation in Estonia

Since 2017, we are the only Estonian forest company that owns a forest plant nursery. The establishment of the plant nursery was motivated by the shortage of high-quality plants in the country and our desire to provide our customers with domestic seedlings for the establishment of a new generation of forests. Today we grow both potted and open-rooted young trees. The assortment includes spruce, birch, pine, and common alder seedlings.

Through Eesti Taimekasvatus more than 4 million trees have reached our forests in Estonia.

Recognized internationally

In 2020, Eesti Metsameister was nominated in the Financial Times TOP 1000. The list consists of thousand fastest growing companies in Europe (FT 1000). We reached 232th place in the general category and 4th place in the Forestry and Agriculture category.

We have also been recognized in our home country, Estonia: in 2018, 2019 and 2020 we were featured in Äripäev’s Gaselli TOP, which lists country’s most rapidly growing companies. We thank the landowners and hundreds of partners in Estonia and abroad for their trust and cooperation.
